Our assessments are carried out by fully qualified GPs and are suitable for pilots preparing for an initial, renewal or review medical.

What does the assessment involve?

Your appointment includes a structured review of your current health and medical history, focusing on issues that may be relevant to an aviation medical.

This may include:

• A discussion of your previous medical history and any current conditions

• Review of medication and relevant medical records

• A physical assessment and examination

• Review of recent blood results, where available

• Assessment of current health risks and your overall medical status

• Advice on documentation that may be helpful to take to your Civil Aviation Authority medical

• Practical guidance on improving your preparation and reducing avoidable delays

Where appropriate, we can arrange or discuss further investigations before your aviation medical.

ECGs and blood tests

An in-clinic electrocardiogram (ECG) can be provided where appropriate.

• Pre-medical assessment: £80

• In-clinic ECG: £50

• Blood tests: if required, these will be discussed with you during the appointment, including likely costs, before they are arranged.

No. This is a private GP-led pre-medical assessment to help you prepare for an aviation medical. Civil Aviation Authority medical certification must be completed by an appropriately authorised aeromedical examiner.

Who is this service for?

It is intended for pilots approaching a Class 1 or Class 2 aviation medical, including those who would like to prepare for an initial, renewal or review assessment.

Can you arrange tests before my aviation medical?

Where clinically appropriate, we can discuss ECGs, blood tests and other investigations. Any tests and associated costs will be agreed with you in advance.

Does this guarantee that I will pass my medical?

No. The final decision rests with the relevant aeromedical examiner and Civil Aviation Authority process. The purpose of this service is to help you prepare well and minimise avoidable disruption.
